Futsal Betting
Futsal is a five-a-side, indoor football-based game that emphasises creativity, close control, and capability. Like football, the aim is to score more goals than the opposition, however, futsal relies more on skill than physical prowess. For this reason, technical footballers to have played the game, such as Ronaldinho, Iniesta, and Ronaldo, all attribute futsal to their footballing development.
When betting on futsal, due to the high number of goals scored throughout the game, the opportunities for over/under betting are increased at greater extremities. Add to the excitement and flair of futsal with our range of betting options.
What futsal events can you bet on?
Both men’s and women’s futsal are played at the domestic, continental, and international level, offering plenty of leagues and tournaments to bet on. At an international level, the most well-followed futsal tournaments include the Futsal World Cup, UEFA European Futsal Championship and Copa America featuring the best of the best international teams. At a club level, you have the Intercontinental Futsal Cup, the equivalent of the FIFA Club World Cup, Futsal Champions League and Copa Libertadores as the dominant club competitions.
Futsal originated in Uruguay and quickly spread in popularity across South America and the Iberian Peninsula as an all-year-round, all-weather way of playing football. For these reasons, teams from these countries have come to dominate the sport. Liga Nacional of Brazil, the Primera Division of Spain and Campeonato Nacional of Portugal are known for being the most competitive domestic leagues.
How to bet on futsal
Futsal betting is just like betting on football and has many betting markets you’d be familiar with such as 3-way bets. However, because futsal matches tend to have more goals compared to football, greater opportunities exist for spread or over/under betting.
What is a 3-way bet?
3-way bets refer to events that have three possible outcomes. For a futsal bet, there are three possible result outcomes to bet on, win, lose or draw. These are the classic bets based on the 1X2 pattern choosing: 1 home victory, X draw, and 2 away victories. If the futsal match occurs at a neutral venue, the 1 stands for victory by the first-named team. 3-way bets are favourable compared to 2-way bets (win/lose) e.g., for tennis and darts, because despite the greater risk of an additional outcome, the draw, you will encounter higher odds.
What is spread betting?
Spread betting is an American term for a handicap bet. For futsal, one team will have a virtual deficit (a handicap) to overcome, and the other team has a virtual head start. If your choice of team scores greater than the opponent after the handicap is applied, you win the bet. For example, if Portugal is playing Argentina and Argentina has a +2.5 handicap, your bet will land even if the full-time score is 6-4 to Portugal because the extra 2.5 goals applied to Argentina after the result means Argentina wins the game 6-6.5.
What is over/under betting?
An over/under bet is a bet on whether a certain statistic will be greater or fewer than a pre-agreed value. Applied to futsal, you may bet there to be over 6.5 goals in a game. If the full-time score is 4-3, your bet lands as the total number of goals, 7, is greater than the pre-agreed value of 6.5.
