About the Copa Libertadores

The CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores is an annual club football tournament played in South America. Within the tournament, 47 teams compete from 10 different football associations. Similar to the Champions League, there is a qualification phase that lower ranked teams must go through to qualify for the group stage. The top two teams in their respective group then qualify for the knockout stage where matches are played over 2 legs.
