About the Ryder Cup
If you're not familiar with the Ryder Cup, 12 players from each side of the Atlantic in a fierce tournament covering three different formats over three days. The formats are:
- Foursomes - two teams of two take it in turns to hit the ball, one player tees off on odd-numbered holes while the other tees off on even-number holes.
- Four Ball - Again, two teams of two play here, but each player has their own ball. The lowest score is used, and this determines who wins the hole.
- Singles - On the final day of the tournament all 24 players compete against one another in single matches.
