Facebook
Individual advertisers can be blocked from showing you adverts on Facebook. If you see an advert from a gambling company, simply click the drop-down menu on the advert, select “Why am I seeing this ad?” and then under “What you can do”, select “Hide all ads from this advertiser”. For more information on controlling your Facebook advertising settings, please read this article Facebook.com/help
Instagram
As Instagram is a product owned by Facebook, the process for blocking adverts and changing ad preferences are very similar and can be carried out in your account settings. Although both Instagram and Facebook are linked by a common owner, the changes you make are unique to each platform, so make sure you amend your settings on both. Within your settings menu, select “Privacy and safety” and then from the sub-menu “Personalization and data”. Here you can turn off advert personalisation, which will stop your search history being used to decide what adverts you are shown. This may help reduce exposure to gambling adverts if you are searching for gambling related products in your browser or on Twitter. You can also block individual adverts when they appear using the drop-down menu and selecting “I don’t like this ad”. For more information, please read this article help.twitter.com
